Evan and I continued to talk after that. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see each other again since I went away on a cruise right after and then was moving out, but we still talked. At one point, I asked if he was still interested or not because I’d understand if he was turned off by the distance and I couldn’t really tell what he was thinking over text. He was SO responsive and sweet! We had a real, mature, adult conversation and he assured me that yes, he was still interested.
A bit after that, around Christmas, he told me that he had some vacation days and had decided to go to Orlando to golf. He wanted to know if I’d be able to see him at all. I of course said yes. I drove up to Orlando for the night, we had steak again (I swear that’s not at all we eat), walked the resort, and had a great night and following morning. Dinner was amazing, we talked so much, and I just felt so comfortable around him. Partially because he is seriously such a gentleman, but also a lot because I feel so secure in myself and finally worthy. It really does make a difference.
While I was there that night, I found out that his main motivation for his trip was to make me feel better because he felt bad that I wasn’t sure that he was still interested. Ladies, if he wanted to, he would! He also ended up getting stuck at the airport and sleeping there overnight on his way home with ZERO complaints because he got to see me.
So my story with Evan The Gentleman is still ongoing. We haven’t made anything ‘official’ yet, but we are going to Grenada in April thanks to him and his company. And I like where things are going. I like being treated the way I know I deserve to be treated, and I like being excited about someone. I like having someone match my effort for once. And, mostly, I like that I know that no matter what happens, I’ll be okay.
Well, everyone, it looks like that’s the end of my Boston-era dating stories! It has truly been quite the ride. I have loved sharing these stories and having y’all be a part of them. I hope you’ve enjoyed them and now, let’s see whether or not I get some good ones in Arizona, too. Either way, I’m ready to see what’s in store for me and my life next!
